Seattle!

June 3, 2013

I’m currently on my flight back from Seattle after hanging out a weekend with Kelly and Kira.  I forgot how fun Kelly was, and how easy to talk to her (take note future boyfriend).  Kira was the same, she had a very extroverted, talkative personality that made our dynamics fun.  It was great to catch with Kelly, to hear about her life and especially her relationship, engagement, and eventually wedding/marriage to Mark.  I am so happy for them.  It is such a romantic and sweet story.  And from what I can see, they truly are cute and perfect for each other.

I also realize that I’m not a very good life/story sharer.  I think I’m good at conversations and asking other people questions, but not very good at sharing my own life even when ask…I keep saying my life is boring but it really isn’t…right?  I think I just am prone to think that way, or to at least have some privacy to myself.  Maybe this realization is also pair with the recent realization that I’m an introvert…not an ambivert, but an introvert.  I’m pretty sure I get my energy by being by myself,  that’s how I’m able to take long runs and go to the gym.  At the same time, I do like company and friends but prefer it to be 1-on-1 or small groups.  I think introverts had kind of a bad rep so I tried to deny it…but who I am is who I am!

Back to Seattle: what a lovely and beautiful city!  I loved it!  Can’t believe Antony, Chris, and Raph had a bad time there.  I loved it!  I love the quaint small stories, the beautiful restaurants, the great foo, the nice people, the chill relaxing atmosphere.   It almost feels like SF but without the pretentiousness.  My favorite food place had to be Crumble & Flake.  OMG, every bite of everything we got was freaking delicious.  In terms of attractions, the EMF museum was bomb.  Glad I was able to take pictures of everything I wanted to, hehe.  One of these days, I want to go to a museum and read every placard and exhibit…without feeling rush (take note future boyfriend).  Great relaxing, yummy trip (even if my legs will be a bit sore from all the walking).

April Fools' Resolutions

So my roommate forc…I mean…asked me to write a blog.  Since this is his birthday week, I have to be extra extra nice to him (since I am regularly already extra nice to him).  So no, this will not be a blog about how crazy he is and the crazy things he does and says. Like what he just said to me in the last 5 minutes:

  • “Today I read *insert bad article* on Yahoo News and it said *insert erroneous/irrelevant fact*”
  • “People are reading my blog but why didn’t people LIKE it?  Alex, did you read my blog?  No you didn’t. Why didn’t you LIKE it?”
  • “My hair is too long…Alex, why you aren’t saying anything? You need to respond faster.”

No, this blog is not going to be about that.  This blog will be about my April Fools’ resolution.  Apparently, that’s a thing now.

—

1.  Be an even nicer and better roommate.  I haven’t been cleaning the bathroom and washing the dishes nearly enough.

2.  Give one affirmation a day to my roommate: “No, your hair does look good.”  ”Yes, you are right, she does sound just like Norah Jones!”

3.  Eat more to lose my muscle-toned body so a certain person around me will feel better about himself.

4.  Try to pay attention when my roommate talks, and not zone out like I usually do.  Or at least make my “uh huh’s” sound a little bit more sincerely.

5.  Indulge him in his Vegas delusions:  Luxor IS definitely the best hotel I ever stayed in, and if I have ever mentioned that I found mold in the room there, that was not true and it was just me being a liar.

6.  Not expose his crazies.  Like that one night where he woke me up and *%#$**# #*$$#$ @@#&#  ##*!##&.

But seriously, I have to give real birthday shout out to the best roommate I ever had!  Happy early birthday to my big brother Shawn!  It’s 4 months early but you have always been the best roommate ever!

The Moro of the Story: Dessert Trifecta!: Golden Gate Bakery, Pacific Puffs, That Takes the Cake - SF → morostory.tumblr.com

Okay, another one and now bed time…don’t worry, I won’t keep reblogging these to my regular blog.

morostory:

While my brother was visiting me here in SF, I decided the best tour I know how to give him was a foodie tour! After grabbing some dim sum at Great Eastern (my go-to dim sum place in Chinatown), I decided to go check if the famous Golden Gate Bakery was open today. As awesome as GG Bakery is, it…

The Moro of the Story: Prospect - San Francisco → morostory.tumblr.com

Trying to start food blogging again…on a separate blog, lets see how long I can keep that up for :/

morostory:

Prospect comes from the team that brought us Boulevard, the oft-lauded staple of the SF food scene. Located in the Infinity Towers, the spacious restaurant was filled with well dressed older diners that really made us felt out of place. But let’s get to the food:

For a cocktail, we shared…

Grinding Cupid's Adam

Was reading another article today about the prevalent racism that still exist especially in my community.

If I were to ever make a profile on those dating websites/apps, I would definitely write NO WHITES!!!  in angry cap letters.

Just saying.

I have no problem with any other ethnicity.  I only have a problem with the ones that have a problem with me.  Although if you would have to categorized me, I guess I would fall under the term “sticky”.  But I’m actually pretty proud of that. :)

Someone Like You

Roommate Shmeric: What do think about “Someone Like You”?

Alex: I like the song, but it is pretty dumb.  Why would you want “someone like” the person who dumped you and moved on and has a better life? I would want someone that is opposite if anything to spite the person before.  The song is so needy, ugh, just as bad as when Jennifer Hudson sang “And I’m Telling You” from Dreamgirls.

Roommate Shmeric:…you would think that.

Dear you

Dear you,

Yes, you.  You know who you are.  Oh, a notification from my phone! Someone just liked my facebook status!  Wait, it is just you…again.  Let’s face it.  You are a LIKE slut.  You LIKE so so sluttily.  There was once upon a time were people would only LIKE statuses that were funny, thoughtful, or interesting.  But you, you LIKE so promiscuously it sickens me.  You know, when you give out your LIKES so easily, no one will want it anymore.  I surely don’t.  Yes, people probably thinks you are easy now.  And when I barely post something and you LIKED it in 2 seconds, it makes me feel (sob)…like you don’t even mean it (sob)!  Maybe this is a phase…I know many people who went through a slutty LIKE phase (usually around college although I didn’t).  But to let you know, until you amend your ways and walk a different path, your LIKES will no longer mean anything to me anymore…

Sincerely,

Me

A tragedy

So one of my co-workers has a baby.  I was very excited the first time I got to see pictures of the baby, and was ready to exclaim “what a beautiful baby boy!”  Luckily, we were with another co-worker who timely said “She’s lovely!”  Phew, dodged a bullet there.  It also didn’t help that the baby had one of those gender-neutral names either. (I don’t really want to say the name for fear that this baby will grow up, virtual-realitied into the internet [because everyone will be virtual-realitying by then] and find this mean post from his…oops I mean her mom’s old co-worker).

It is quite the tragic situation, ugly babies that is.  Their moms think the world of them, that they are tiny little angels, and proudly dress them up and take tons of pictures.  But equally tragic are the viewers of these pics, who are obligated to shower the pictures with praises.  Since I’m not very good at lying, this has been very difficult for me and gets worse as time goes on:

“Hmmmm, that’s a beautiful bow.”

“Ohh, that crib, is that mahogany wood?”

“Your baby…yes, good.”

“A square head means she has a square skull.”

“I like that she has eyes.”

Well, ugly babies shouldn’t feel too bad.  It is commonly believed that ugly babies grow up to be attractive people and cute babies grow up to be not so cute people (well with the exception of this cute baby).

Well, the point of this blog post is irrelevant anyways because everyone is born beautiful on the inside (not true) and that what’s really matters (not true).

Feeling blah

Sigh, I’m feeling really emotionally drained right now.  And it isn’t like I went through some difficult experiences…I’m just tired.  And it’s a long, exhausting (but hopefully fun?) weekend up ahead!

Can’t be…introvert….must be….extrovert this weekend.

Do I have a secret, subconscious fetish?

So last night, I probably had one of my most memorable, strangest dreams ever.  I can’t really explain it in word.  So I did it in pictures.  And trust me, these pictures captures pretty much the dream to a tee:

image

Boy-poo meets Girl-poo.  And they mate creating baby-poo.

image

Baby-poo meets King-poo and also mated creating Baby-poo #2 (it’s a baby, how does it mate? I don’t know).

image

Baby-poo #2 meets Forest-poo.  Baby-poo #2 gets eaten by Forest-poo.

image

Forest-poo meets Ocean-poo and jumps on it.  Together they combined to become….

image

Doraemon!

Yep, I dreamt this.  No lie.

I’m not weird.

(PS FYI those poo drawings were very hard to draw)
